Tip rhinoplasty
Tip Rhinoplasty in Istanbul
Refine a wide, bulbous or drooping nose tip – without changing the bridge of your nose.

What is tip rhinoplasty?
Tip rhinoplasty is a nose surgery that changes only the lower, cartilage part of the nose – the tip. The bony bridge is not reshaped. It is suitable for people who are happy with the profile of their nose but would like a more refined, better-supported or better-positioned tip.
What can a tip rhinoplasty change?
- A wide or bulbous (round) tip
- A drooping tip that falls when you smile
- An asymmetric tip
- A tip that projects too much – or too little
- Wide nostrils, if combined with an alar reduction
Is tip rhinoplasty right for me?
Tip rhinoplasty works best when your bridge is straight and in proportion to your face. If you also have a hump, a wide bony vault or a crooked nose, a full primary rhinoplasty is usually the better choice – otherwise the tip may look out of balance with the rest of the nose. Dr. Koç will tell you honestly which option suits your nose after reviewing your photos.
How is it performed?
The tip cartilages are reshaped and supported with fine sutures and, if necessary, small cartilage grafts. Depending on the changes needed, the operation is performed through incisions inside the nose (closed approach) or with a small incision under the nose (open approach). It is done under general anaesthesia.
Recovery after tip rhinoplasty
Because the bones are not touched, bruising is usually mild. You stay one night in hospital and the tape or splint is removed after about a week. The tip is the area where swelling lasts longest, so the final definition develops gradually over several months. See our recovery guide.
FAQ
Tip rhinoplasty questions
Is tip rhinoplasty cheaper than full rhinoplasty?
Usually the operation is shorter and less extensive, which is reflected in the price. Your personal quote is confirmed after the free online assessment.
Can a drooping tip be lifted?
Yes. A drooping tip can be rotated upwards and better supported so that it no longer falls when you smile.
Are the results permanent?
Yes. The changes to the cartilage are permanent, although the nose continues to age naturally with the rest of the face.
Can fillers replace tip rhinoplasty?
Fillers can camouflage small irregularities but cannot make a tip smaller or narrower. Lasting refinement requires surgery.
